DAY 02: Vythri Sightseeing: Edakkal Caves, Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary, Meenmutty Waterfall, Sentinel Rock Waterfall

After a nice breakfast at the hotel, it’s time to catch the austere beauty of Vythiri and the surrounding places. The best way to start off would be a visit to the famed Edakkal Caves, located at a height of 1000 m on Ambukuthymala. The natural representations made by Neolithic Celts on these walls were first identified by a British man on a hunting trip. The drawings are believed to be more than 3000 years old and are a truly remarkable place to be in. You could also visit sights like the Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary, the Meenmutty Waterfall or even the Sentinel Rock Waterfall, known locally as the Soochipara (needle rock). The pool at the foot of the waterfalls is ideal for a quick dip and is truly one of the most attractive falls in the district. You could visit Ambalavayal Heritage Museum or visit the town of Sultan Bathery as well.

DAY 04: Athirapally Waterfalls -Vazhachal Sightseeing

Visiting Athirapally Waterfalls, located almost 47 km away from Thrissur is an experience straight out of a fairy story. You need to be prepared to have your breath stolen away by the stunning beauty of the falls. What makes it even more special is the fact that it’s the highest waterfall in the state and the sight and the sound of the water plunging down the hill is most likely to be music to your ears. It would evoke a deep sense of wildness in you because there’s a chance you may never have seen something as stunning and as beautiful as this. The water that flows from the fringes of the Sholayar forest then joins the Chalakudy River. Don’t forget to check out Vazhachal while you’re there. Just a short drive from Athirapally, Vazhachal is close to the dense forests that are home to a number of endangered and endemic species of both flora and fauna. This is the only place in the entire stretch of Western Ghats where one can see the four endangered species of Hornbills.

DAY 05: Explore Cochin

DAY 06: Drive to Cochin for shopping followed by departure

Day 6 would be the last day of your truly wonderful journey through some of the best destinations of Kerala. Enjoy a splendid breakfast at your hotel and after checkout it’s time to drive towards Cochin for the onward journey. Of course, if time permits, then it would be a great way to say good bye to the place with a shopping trip in the city and when you’re done, drop back at the Airport or the Railway station for your journey back home after saying a last minute goodbye to God’s Own Country which would have given you plenty of memories for you to last a lifetime.
