Day 04: Alleppey- 165kms- 4 hrs drive, Houseboat trip through the backwaters
After breakfast, its goodbye to Thekkady and hello to Alleppey – the Venice of the East. The shores, washed by the silvery waves of the Arabian Sea, lay in wait for you to set on your next journey across the famous Houseboats of Alleppey. Setting out at noon, this cruise lets you enjoy the beautiful villages, paddy fields, shoreline based churches, temples and the day-to-day life of the local folk, who would almost always be busy with their catch of the day. And adding to that, the local flavor you experience is further enhanced by the fact that you would be served with the traditional houseboat lunch prepared for you by the locals. Spending the night over in the houseboat, would definitely give you a night to remember for a lifetime.
